Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Thursday, attended the Passing Out Ceremony of the 2021 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch A’ (Stream 1) Corps Members at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

He was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja, in company of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Musa Idris and other aides, and was received by the NYSC State Coordinator, Pst. Mrs. Mofoluwaso Williams, and other officials.

Remarking, Chief Onoja disclosed that Governor Bello’s staunch security portfolio has posited Kogi State as a torchbearer amongst the comity of states in the country, saying the Governor remains committed to the well-being of corps members in the State in their efforts to contribute to national development.

”In that regard, our doors remain open to those of you who may have made resolutions to stay back and explore our wide range of opportunities,” he assured.

Commending the NYSC for always instilling discipline and inculcating nationalist consciousness in corps members, he charged them to remain good ambassadors of the Scheme and advised them to remain focused, build favorable networks, whilst taking up entrepreneurial ventures for self-dependency.

Separately, Chief Onoja represented Governor Yahaya Bello at today’s National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided by Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. The Deputy Governor joined other attendees virtually via Zoom where several matters of national interests were discussed.
