Kogi CJ, President CCA Charged To Infuse Positive Changes Into Judicial Sys

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has charged the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Henry Adebola Olusuyi, and President Customary Court of Appeal, Justice John Bayo Olowosegun to infuse positive changes in the judicial system of the State.

The Governor while congratulating both men for crossing several rigor to occupy such great position added that they should undertake their duty in serving their employer who are the people, while they will their power with equity and fairness in a bid to deliver a vibrant and active Kogi State judiciary.

He made this known at the Swearing-in of both the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Henry Adebola Olusuyi and the President, Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Bayo Olowosegun after their recommendation by the Nigeria Judicial Council and recent confirmation by the state house of Assembly affirming the duo as the occupants of their respective portfolios which they previously held in acting capacities.

The Governor paid tributes to late justice Nasiru Ajannah and Justice Atadoga who were previous occupants of the office noting that the state continued to mourn their demise owing to the huge vacuum their departure created

He asserted that since the inception of his administration the principle of Separation of Power has been adequately enshrined stating that such would continue to be a focus of his government that would also transcend into the future

The Governor attested that the adherence to due process has become a means through which mutual checks and balance between the three arms have been ensured

He similarly mentioned that while they served in active capacities, both have demonstrated commitment to these democratic ideals boasting that he was certain they would serve the good interest of the people of the State in their best abilities.

In his vote of thanks, the Chief Justice of kogi State, Justice Henry Olusuyi thanked the Governor, the NJC, the State House of Assembly and every other institution which God used to elevate them into the pinnacle of their profession.

He noted that by their swearing-in today which followed a process initiated by the governor through their appointment, the societal cycle of government and administration has been completed.

The CJ noted that while serving in acting position, they took a stand on quick administration of justice which they have educated courts on the modalities to follow stating that the judicial arm remained committed to this mantra as Kogi would witness speedy administration of justice while upholding the ideals of the legal profession.
