Gov. Bello hailed over positive disposition to youths, sports development »

The administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has been described as one that has made youths and sports development cardinal and one that tops the priority of his administration.

Olajide Peters, Member of the newly appointed and constituted committee by the Nigeria Athletics Masters for the organization of the World Masters Championship in Tampere Finland 2022, made the disclosure in a press conference held with Newsmen at the NUJ Press Conference Lokoja.

Olajide Peters is an indigene of Kogi State, hails from Yagba East LGA, has represented Nigeria in world Athletics tournament over the years, commend Gov. Bello for his passion in Youths development, described him as most friendly youths development governor the State has had.

Olajide commended the Governor’s support for Youths of the State to prove their talent in National and International competition, said his successes in Athletics would not have been made possible without the encouragement and enabling environment created by the government.

Aside Athletics, Olajide disclosed that the present administration has also supported other sports, described the reorganization in the various team sports particularly football as a step in the right direction, lauded Gov Bello’s positive disposition to Youths and Sports Development.

The Kogi born Athletics winning medalists in several National and International competition where he flied the state’s flag for the country, assured that he has the full optimism that if elected as President, Gov. Yahaya Bello would make the country excel beyond the usual in Youths and Sports Development.

Olajide used the medium to call for support for Gov Bello to actualize his presidential aspiration, pointing out that like it is currently experienced in the state, Youths would take their rightful place in governance and in all sectors.

Mr. Olajide said as part of efforts to ensure that the State does not lag behind in having athletes and some Government delegation in Tempere Finland in 2022, said he will begin advocacy visit to top Government officials and some noteable indigenes of the State to drum and seek financial support towards the Successful host of the championship.

While expressing optimism that Gov. Bello a lover of Youths and Sports Development would as usual come to the support of NAM towards making the Championship in Tampere Finland a success.

The benefits of the championship he concluded would once again show case the talent and potentials of the State, while it would also serve as an avenue to Market the unprecedented achievements of Gov Yahaya Bello.

Others who attended the Press briefing include Coach Maikudi Kaka Abdullahi, Coach to Olajide Peters, Femi Abiodun and Murtala Mohammed, all added their voices in calling on Gov. Bello and the State to rally round Mr. Olajide Peters who is the only Kogi State indigene in the committee to contribute to the success of the Championship in Tampere Finland.

Olajide Peters was appointed alongside Mr. Samuel Onikeku as Chairman of the Committee and ACP Chioma Ajunwa MON, Chief Mrs. Falilat Ogunkoya Omotayo MON as Vice Chairman.

Others in the exprlected to work towards a successful Masters Championship in Tampere Finland 2022 include; Chief Lawrence Adegbehingbe – Chairman Technical, Dr. Richard Ogunleye – Vice Chairman Technical, Irene Anetor, Mariam Adedun, Stephen Itodo, Iyere Enyieyien, Jude Nibiro, Dr. Safiya Yaya Kongolia and Six others, charged to seek for funds in the best possible way to host the championship.

The appointment of Olajide Peters According to a letter of appointment signed by Alexander Udojoh, Secretary General, NAM followed his passion for Athletics and proven integrity, was urged to bring his wealth of experience to bear in making the championship a reality.
