Gov Bello inaugurates 2019 APC Campaign Council for November poll; charge them to work twice as hard »

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has charged the leadership and membership of the APC Campaign Council for the November 16 Governorship poll in the state to work twice as hard as though the opposition candidates have upper hand against the ruling party in the November governorship poll.

He made the statement on Thursday in his charge to the campaign team while inaugurating the council at the Government House in Lokoja.

The Governor expressed confidence in the ability of members of the campaign team to deliver, but urged them not to underrate the opposition as he has never underestimated the capacity of any challenger in a contest in his entire life.

He described the makeup of the council to comprise people of proven integrity and capacity to deliver, and called on them to convince more people into the APC fold, adding that the composition of himself and his running mate, Hon Edward Onoja as a divine combination.

He further warned against engagement in any act of violence and public disturbance, saying that as a governor, he pilots the affairs of the entire state and not only the affairs of members of the ruling party or the opposition.

He said if anyone is caught engaging in any act capable disrupting public peace, those responsible would be made to face full wrath of the law, adding that irrespective of situations, all must act peacefully and in love with fellow citizen of the state.

He used the occasion to pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of the first executive Governor of Kogi State and Late APC stalwart, Prince Abubakar Audu while further applauding the efforts of past leaders of the party in the state for all their sacrifices and commitment to course of the APC.

Earlier in his opening address, the State Chairman of the party, Hon Abdullahi Bello had thanked the Governor for providing the enabling environment for the APC to operate in Kogi State, assuring him of the capacity of the council to deliver.

He described the Director General of the council, Senator Smart Adeyemi as a man of tested ability with a team of demonstrable experience to ensure the party wins during the November governorship poll.

In his acceptance speech, the Director General, Senator Smart Adeyemi promised the candidate, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of his determination to ensure all round victory for the APC.

He said the Governor is a good product that does not require dissipation of energy to market in view of his numerous achievements in various sectors of the state, including his socioeconomic policies that have turned around the fortunes of citizens of the state.

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff, Hon Edward Onoja said he was not surprised about the way people are trouping into the APC, noting that it was because they have realised the party is the only alternative in the state for now.
