Gov. Bello moves to address life-threatening gully erosion in Ogane Aji »

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has come to the aid of the people of Ogane Aji community in Dekina Local Government area of the state in its concerted effort to address the 26 years life-threatening gully erosion.

The Honourable Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Dr. Abubakar Ohere, who visited the site for an on-the -spot assessment said the prompt response is due to the value placed on the lives of humans living around erosion prone areas by the state government, adding that Gov. Yahaya Bello didn’t have to wait for ecological funds before moving into areas with urgent need.

Engr. Ohere expressed that the work on the erosion sites at Ogane Aji is among other ongoing projects across the state, saying that the mandate of the Government is primarily to secure a clean, healthier and sustainable environment that will be conducive for tourism, economic growth and wellbeing of its citizenry.

The Ogane Aji community appreciated the Governor for his action.
