Gov. Bello pays N10m medical bill of kidney transplant patient
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has paid the medical bills of one Mrs. Omolara Oluyole, a civil servant who was diagnosed of chronic kidney disease at Zenith Medical and Kidney Center, Abuja.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Multilateral, Donor Agencies and Special Projects, Honorable Abdulkareem Suleiman Onyekehi disclosed this during an interview with newsmen on Monday in Lokoja.
Onyekehi, who is also the Focal Person for Kogi Social Investment Programme (SIP), said the governor paid the sum of N10 million medical bill on Friday to ensure the commencement of the operation as soon as possible in order to save the life of Mrs. Oluyole.
According to him, Governor Yahaya Bello is much concerned about the health condition of the people and has intervaned on several occasions to life threatening health challenges on indigent citizens of the state despite the challenges.
“The Governor who is a passionate leader with original humanist principles donated the sum of N10 million for her kidney transplant in spite of the paucity of funds and the economic situation of the state”. He said.
