… Describes Honour as Symbol of Unity

The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has described the investiture of Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji as the Ene-Umola Attah-Igala as a powerful symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence among the different ethnic groups in Kogi State.

Speaking at the investiture ceremony held at the Attah Igala Palace in Idah on Sunday, Governor Ododo, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, commended His Royal Majesty, Dr. Mathew Alaji Opaluwa OgwucheAkpa, CFR, the Attah Igala and President of the Kogi State Council of Chiefs, for promoting inclusiveness through the conferment of the prestigious traditional title on a respected son of Okun land.

The Governor explained that Ene-Umola Attah-Igala means “Companion and Friend of the Attah Igala,” a title that represents trust, loyalty, partnership, and commitment to a common cause.

According to him, the honour bestowed on Prince Olatunji Olusoji goes beyond personal recognition and reflects the kind of Kogi State the present administration is building; one where unity, mutual respect, and service to humanity are valued above ethnic differences.

Governor Ododo noted that the recognition of a distinguished son of Kogi West by the great Igala traditional institution sends a strong message that friendship and peaceful coexistence is possible among all ethnic groups in the state.

He stressed that the Igala, Ebira, Okun, Bassa, Nupe, Kakanda, Gwari, Ogori and other ethnic groups in Kogi belong to one family and must continue to strengthen the bonds that unite them.

The Governor congratulated Prince Olatunji Olusoji on the well-deserved honour, describing him as a humble, and as someone who loves development, who has continued to contribute positively to the growth and progress of Kogi State.

He urged the awardee to use the title as a platform to further promote peace and unity among the people, while continuing to support initiatives that increase development in Igala Kingdom and across the state.

Governor Ododo also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support in strengthening security across the country, noting that Kogi State has recorded great successes in the fight against criminality through the collaboration between the Federal Government and the current administration in the state.

He called on citizens of the state to embrace the message of friendship and unity embodied in the chieftaincy title, stressing that a stronger, and more prosperous Kogi State can only be achieved through collective effort and mutual respect.

In his remarks, the awardee, Asiwaju Engr. Prince Olatunji Olusoji, thanked the Attah Igala and the entire Igala traditional institution for the honour. He said his passion for helping people is rooted in his Christian faith and urged Kogites to continue to protect the peace and unity the state enjoys, stressing that Kogi belongs to all of us.

Prince Olusoji said the title would further strengthen his bond with the Igala Kingdom and inspire him to do more for the people. He noted that government cannot do everything alone, adding that he has continued to support efforts in health, education, and security. He also pledged to be a worthy ambassador of the Igala Kingdom and keep his doors open to the concerns of the people.
