Government House Chapel; an affirmation that Gov. Bello keeps his word

The Kogi State CAN Chairman, Bishop John Ibenu has pointed out that the foundation laying and proposed building of the Kogi Government House Chapel was not an act propelled by politics but an affirmation that Governor Bello keeps to his promise

He made this known on Monday at the ground breaking ceremony of the Kogi State Government House Chapel, which broke a 28year jinx of the non existence of such in the premises.

Bishop Ibenu expressed gratitude to God almighty for such an historic day, stating that God has tried the heart of Governor Bello by placing such desire in it and the Governor had passed God’s test.

The CAN chairman noted that as far as he know the Governor has placed God foremost even from the inception of his administration noting that he the Governor would end well.

He revealed that the Governor has accorded the highest respect to God and the Christian faith through this gesture and many other done in the past.

The Chairman stated on their part as the bible charged Christians to pray for those in authority, they have never shy away from this responsibility either publicly or privately.

He noted that Christians were never to grumble or spread false hood, but to at all times when necessary constructively criticize those in government and proffer solutions to whatever they see to be bad or not good enough.

The Chairman affirmed that the church remained the hope of the Nation, charging Christians to at all times pray for the good of the State and the Nation and the leaders respectively

He mentioned that the Chapel was not in competition with the mosque that was within the premises but was a meeting point where Men would meet with God.

The Secretary To the State Government Dr. Mrs. Ayoade Folashade Arike in her opening remarks sated that Governor Yahaya Bello was a positive history maker who has continued to break positive progressive Records in the State.

She affirmed that the Governor as a Muslim has done so much for the Christian community in the State, stating that as a non religious affiliated leader his appointments had clearly depicted his stand.
