Governor Bello acknowledges positive potentials of Igala Unity House as development avenue as he inaugurates 15 – man committee for “Project Power Kogi East’

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has affirmed that the Igala Unity House which is a place for the enhancement of Igalala culture and development was a symbol of the unity, Peace and Progress enjoyed of the people.

The Governor it was capable of bringing together the entire Igala Nation and the state in general if we’ll managed and opportunities tapped.

He pointed this out in his address at the commissioning ceremony in Anyigba where he noted that such identity was by extension what numerous ethnic groups in the country should exemplify.

Governor Bello expressed gratitude to Igala people for the love and support he enjoyed from them and promised not to fail them because his government was all about equity and fairness in the distribution of resources.

He similarly inaugurated a 15 – man committee to spear- the Operation Power Kogi East, a project aimed at electrifying all communities in Igalaland.

Governor Bello while addressing the joyous crowd, revealed that his heart was always filled with excitement whenever he visited the area.

He noted that he would prefer to call the Igala Unity House a Friendship House because his interest was for the success of the project because his friend and Chief of Staff, Hon Edward Onoja came to him with a burden towards giving his people a sense of cultural identity which he obliged.

The Governor noted that Onoja, who is a good son of Igalaland revealed to him that the reconstruction, expansion and remodeling of the long forgotten Unity House would be a step towards repositioning the ethnic group and concretise efforts in place for it to occupy its rightful place among cultural expressions in the state and Nigeria at large.

Governor Bello pointed out that the commisioning of the elegant building was the actualisation of a man’s vision and drive to facilitate developmental infrastructure for his people and rejuvenate their cultural identity and glory.

He mentioned that he has been severally accused of fraternizing too much with the Igala people as an Ebira Governor, an accusation he did not deny because he was guilty as charged.

The Governor opined that he was obliged to relate equally with every ethnic group in the State, adding that maintaining a cordial relationship with majority ethnic group in his state was not out of place.

On the inauguration of the committee towards project power Kogi East, Bello clarified that such move was not intended for political gains but towards delivering developmental diviends to the people.

He said that the proposed project had been planned before the political season as it was clearly captured in the 2019 buget.

Governor Bello stated that owing to findings that ninety percent of Igalaland was in total darkness, it was imperative for his administration to look into such concern as no meaningful development could take place where in the midst of total darkness.

The Governor Congratulated the Attah of Igala kingdom, Dr. Michael Ameh Oboni II,; the National President of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA), Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmodu and members of his executive among other prominent Igala sons and daughters for witnessing such a historic day.

Governor Bello similarly expressed his gratitude to the Attah of Igala, for his continued support of his administration since his assumption of office.
