Governor Bello affirms further commitment to education development in second term
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has affirmed his administration’s further commitment to the development of the education sector in the State when elected for a second term.
He made this commitment on Saturday when he, alongside the governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Muhammed Badaru attended the coronation ceremony of the Alalu of Alu kingdom Oba Ade Oladele Togun, Osanipin ll and the fund raising of 2 billion naira by its development’s association
The Governor alongside his Jigawa state colleague were also conferred with chieftaincy titles as the Bobajiroro of Alu kingdom (Co-delibrator with the king) and Alaanu Oba of Alu Kingdom (the King’s helper) respectively
The State Governor thanked the traditional ruler for the traditional titles noting that the event was historic as the kingdom was left for eight years without a king before the intervention of his government.
Governor Bello also congratulated Honourable Leke Joseph Abejide, House of Representative member representing Yagba East for the highly elevated traditional position his community conferred on him in recognition of his tremendous contribution in the education sector.
He noted that the New Direction Government under his leadership has placed deserving priority on the traditional institution and that was why the State was enjoying relative peace and unity
The Governor noted that such was the unity, togetherness and peace his government preached and practiced urging everyone to continue in such progressive trajectory.
Governor Bello similarly promised better deal for the people of Yagba East when elected for second term focusing particularly in the area of road infrastructures
The traditional ruler in his remark expressed his gratitude to God almighty for such position, while he also thanked the Governor for the approval of his appointment.
Oba Oladele Togun pledged to pursue the peace and progress of the region while he further solicited the good gesture of the people of the state.
While conferring the traditional titles to the two executive governors, the traditional ruler stated that they and other beneficiaries of the traditional gesture were Worthy sons and daughters of the land who have contributed immensely to the development of Alu kingdom.
In his opening remarks the National President Alu Progressive Union Engineer Adebayo Joshua thanked the Governor and the government for approving the royal father’s appointment and conferring the deserving title on their Paramount ruler
He stated that the Alu kingdom played host to eighteen communities and was one of the bursting towns in the region.
The chairman thanked the New Direction Government for its strides in the education sector which has greatly added value to the Alu Kingdom.
