Governor Bello cautions against election violence, as 21 LG Administrators reaffirm commitment to victory

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has warned perpetrators of election violence not to surface at the November 16 election else they would sniffed out and liquidated.

The Governor made this remark on Thursday while receiving the twenty one Local Government Administrators and their Secretaries at the Banquet Hall, government house, Lokoja.

The administrators who were on a congratulatory and ‘thank you’ visit also reinstated their commitments towards the victory of Yahaya Bello at the November governorship election.

The Governor said that it was obvious by the conduct of the APC primary election that the party was a frontier of peace as he assured that the November Election would follow similar trajectory.

Governor Bello appreciated God Almighty for the resounding victory of President Buhari at the Tribunal as he was sure that Nigerians voted for the President and he was qualified to run for the office as he served his country very well.

Governor Bello thanked the leadership of the APC who provided the platform and gave the support which ensured his emergence as the party flagbearer with a landslide victory.

He pointed out that the 21 Administrator played very crucial roles in the victory which they all celebrate and have performed excellently in their respective areas, reason why they were still retained in their respective positions.

Governor Bello further explained that those who no longer occupy the positions were moved to another area of need within their locality as he believed in the practice of balanced governance.

He noted that they all had a task ahead which should not be taken for granted stating that people should not be forced but convinced to vote for the Party based on its performance.

He pointed out that it was these achievements that led to the party’s victorious outing at the last general election while affirming that they would campaign rigorously to make their positions known to the people of Kogi State.

The Governor boasted that the margin of the forth coming election would discourage any opponent from going to the tribunal to challenge the exercise.

On the nomination of Honourable Edward Onoja as his running mate, Governor Bello noted that he deserved the best as they started the New Direction project together and shared similar vision.

He revealed that although Honourable Edward had declined the position in his first term, He insisted that his current Chief of Staff came on board to deputize him in the second term.

Governor Bello however charged the Administrators to go back home, make more friends and carry every stakeholder along as they entered into the electioneering season.

The ALGON chairman and Ijumu Local Government Administrator, Honourable Taofeek Isah foremost congratulated the governor for his successful outing at the recently concluded primary election where he emerged as the flag bearer of the Party.

Honourable Taofeek again congratulated the governor on the outcome of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the election of President Muhammadu Buhari stating that such victory was well deserved.

He mentioned that the 21 Local Government Administrator were delighted and happy at the nomination of one of their own Honourable Edward Onoja as his running mate in the forth coming gubernatorial election.

The Algon chairman stated that Honourable Edward’s nomination has proven that hard work in the New Direction Administration would be kindly rewarded.

In his remarks the Algon Secretary and Administrator of Olamabor Local Government Honourable Friday Nicodemus noted that the structure of the APC would have collapsed in 2015 if not for the Governor’s emergence.

He affirmed that his colleagues and their secretaries would go back to the grass root and work to ensure the victory of the Governor at the polls.

Honourable Friday stated that beyond 2019 the party should have a succession plan so as to ensure that the Party structure remain very strong and long lasting.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs Engineer Abubakar Ohere pointed out that today’s meeting was at the instance of the Local Government Administrators who came to congratulate and thank the governor for his humane and quality leadership, and to also pledge their total commitment to the victory of the party at the November poll.
