Governor Bello commends role of Army in ensuring peace, stability
Governor Yahaya Bello has described the armed forces remembrance day as significant in reflecting on sacrifices made by the military to unite and ensure peace in the country.
Bello also pledged his government’s continued support for the Armed forces, law enforcement agencies and the families of fallen heroes.
The Governor made this statement today at the commemoration of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at the world war I and ii cenotaph, lokoja.
The Governor charged the living heroes to continue to defend the nation’s sovereignty noting that citizens should support the government in catering for the well being of loved ones left behind by the nation’s fallen heroes.
He similarly implored citizens to maintain law and order stating that security was a collaborative effort of different sectors of the society while he charged the media against the dissemination of falsehood.
The Governor was joined by top service chiefs, representative of retired service men, traditional rulers as they laid wreaths in honour and remembrance of the nation’s fallen heroes.
The Governor had earlier inspected the guard of honour, signed the hard book and released the white pigeons which symbolises existing national peace.
