Governor Ododo urges unity as he receives Omala stakeholders on courtesy visit

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has called for unity to ensure an egalitarian Kogi State, emphasizing the need to prioritize forward-thinking governance over the ephemeral sentiments of past elections.

Governor Ododo made this known today during a courtesy visit by stakeholders from Omala local government area to his private residence in Abuja.

The Governor assured judicious allocation of state’s resources towards overall development of the state, promising improved welfare for local government workers and pensioners.

The Governor commended Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim, the Director General of Protocol, and Honorable Umar Yahaya, House of Assembly Member representing Omala state constituency, for their steadfast support towards his administration.

Addressing the concern of insecurity, Governor Ododo pledged to proactively nip in the bud the challenges afflicting Omala local government area. He further announced plans for a visit to the area to gain firsthand insight into the security landscape and to foster closer ties with the community.

Earlier in his remark, the House of Assembly member, Honorable Umar Yahaya, extended congratulations on behalf of his constituents to the Governor over the election victory. He presented the governor with a communique regarding the security situation in Omala.

Honourable Yahaya further expressed gratitude to the Governor for appointing Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim as Director General of Protocol and for the support that facilitated the appointment of Honourable Mark Edibo as Caretaker Chairman of the local government area.

Highlight of the visit was presentation of kolanunuts to the Governor by HRH, Chief Paul Achor Edibo, Ogohi Akpacha and Acting Chairman of Omala Local Government Traditional Council.

The occasion was attended by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Barrister Momodu Deedat Ozigi who was instantly appointed by the Governor as Chairman of a Committee to study the report submitted to him at the event; Royal Fathers; Caretaker Chairman of Omala Local Government, Hon. Mark Edibo and other Critical Stakeholders.
