To mark the birthday of the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist AbdulKarim Jamiu Asuku, a group of media influencers in Kogi State, the GYB E-media Watch today visited orphanage homes across the three senatorial districts of the state to fete with orphans.

The outreach which happened a day after the Chief of Staff’s birthday achieved its aim of putting smile on the faces of widows and orphaned children when they were presented with various food stuffs, cash and other gift items at Arqam Orphanage Home, Agasa in Okene Local Government, Victory Orphanage Home, Anyigba in Dekina local government and Stagi Cornerstone Orphanage Home, in Lokoja the state capital.

The team lead of E-media, Mr. Lawal Ozomata James who supervised the distribution in Lokoja and Okene said the essence of the outreach was to share in the birthday celebration of their boss with the orphaned children and widows. He said Pharmacist Asuku is a great leader whose passion remains to always put smile on people’s faces.

James said Pharmacist Asuku Asuku has contributed to the upliftment of many young people in the state through the support of Governor Yahaya Bello, adding that the chief of staff has inculcated the culture of empathy in them, which is why they have decided to honor him by reaching out to the less privileged in his name, a gesture that he said was dear to the celebrant.

The team lead who regretted the unfortunate abduction of the mother of the Chief of Staff, used the opportunity to solicit prayers for her quick release.

Owosagba Clara Folashade, who received the items for Stagi Cornerstone Orphanage Lokoja, thanked the group for remembering the orphans while she noted that some individuals celebrated their birthday lavishing money without remembering the motherless or orphans and the less-privileged. She prayed for longer life in good health for the Chief of Staff and prayed for the release of her abducted mother.

At Arqam Orphanage Home in Agasa, prayers were offered for the Chief Of Staff, pharm Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu by one of the orphans. Cash gifts were also distributed to widows in Okene LGA. The widows likewise offered prayers for the Chief Of Staff, and for a quick release of his mother.

The children and staff of Victory Orphanage Home in Anyigba could hide their joy as they sang birthday songs and offered special prayers in appreciation of the gesture.
