Hon Amodu moves to end Itobe Chieftaincy Crisis

In a swift response to curtailing what would have been described as a major breakdown of laws in Itobe, Ofu Local Government, the Senior Special Assistant on security to the Governor of Kogi State in the area, Hon. Amodu Ibrahim halted crisis ravaging the village on the 1st of August, 2020.

It was revealed that the remote and immediate cause of the incidence surged from a planned coronation of a new “Amana Attah” in the area.Investigation further found that two major families were fighting for who climbs the cherished traditional stool.

When informed, Hon. Amodu Ibrahim immediately arrived at the scene to permeate the reign of peace.

The LG Boss met a burnt down house belonging to one Hajia Inoh, which could have led to more disastrous activities. Hon. Amodu further mobilised members of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agents to enforce law and order as he promised not to condone any act capable of launching the area into unending fracas.

In a bid to finding permanent solution, the SSA with some Itobe community stakeholders met with the “Attah Igala” His Royal Majesty, Ameh Oboni II to brief him and find a way out of the crisis.

In his response, the Attah Igala noted that there’s no plan by the Palace to crown a new Amana Attah in Itobe.

The royal father advised the waring groups to shelve their swords as there will be no enthronement of anybody over Itobe.

The community stakeholders appreciated the SSA and Attah Igala for helping the situation find its way through clarity on the issues of coronation. They promised to ensure there is no further escalation of crisis in the area anymore.
