Hon Cosmas Atabor meets with Kogi state RAAMP, World Bank team on sensitization, risk assessment

The Transition Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, today met with the World Bank team on sensitization and risk assessment and a representative of the Kogi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in furtherance of his readiness to partner with the World Bank and RAAMP for the betterment and development of earmarked markets within the Local Government.

This project aims to improve access to markets for farmers in Igalamela/Odolu and boost agricultural productivity in the area.

In addition, the Transition Chairman informed the team of his readiness at renovating the markets within the local government area and the Local Governments readiness to enter BOT partnerships with entities with verifiable capacity. “We are also looking at setting up training programs for local farmers to help them improve their agricultural practices and increase their yields,” he said.

In an unrelated news, the Transition Chairman has today the 26th of March, 2024, ordered the dismantling and removal of all illegal road blocks between the Okpachalla, Ayah and Egbolo axis of Igalamela/Odolu LG.
This order is in line with the State Governments directive that revenue collection at Local Government level be centralized to a point of loading or takeoff.
This order takes immediate effect.
