Hon. Rabi Emaiku bags CWO 'Onobule Omemele' award »

The chairperson of the Kogi State Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Hon. Rabi Emaiku was on Saturday decorated with an award of Excellence by members of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Idah Diocese as Onobule Omemele.

The event which took place at Our Lady Parish, Anyigba housed dignitaries from all walks of life.

The award of Excellence was presented to the chairperson when the Christian Women Organization (CWO) leaders of the famous Women of Idah Diocese stormed Our lady Secondary school at Dekina local government area of Kogi State.

The women stated that the award was in recognition of Rabi Emaiku’s premium commitment and effort towards the work of God in their Parish, and her service to humanity, a characteristic feature of hers which is uncommon among most leaders and ordinary women.

In her brief speech, the CWO President, Mrs Juliet Achimugwu said, “in adopting you as our choice, we placed a very high premium commitment and efforts towards the church and to the society, chief among the many factors we considered was your efforts towards promoting peace in our homes by leading with example.

‘You have distinguished yourself in so many ways as regards helping the destitute, widows, orphans and rendered help to many people and today we deem it fit to bestow on you this remarkable award of excellence as the Onobule Omemele of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO).

‘Your recent activities in our society which have attracted a state wide accolade cannot be over emphasized. We resolved that there is no one best suited at the moment for this award of Excellence than you. The group is fully persuaded that you have served and merited the award of Excellence, in commemoration of our day celebration”.

Hon. Rabi Emaiku assured them of her commitment to God and humanity and pledged support at all time. She acknowledged the CWO for their concerted effort and sincerity in looking out to excellence in the public sphere especially in this trying time. “CWO has not only honoured me, but all the women, for counting me worthy to be crowned with this noble award, words are not certainly enough to accurately drive home my gratitude to you but one thing is certain, I will no” she said.

However, the award was precipitated as a result of exceptional leadership qualities displayed by her in supporting the youths, women and the needy.

Kogi East APC Zonal Chairman, Hon Muhammed Alfa Nasiru (Represented by his PA), Ofu local government APC chairman, Hon Yahaya Shagari, FCT RIFAN Chairman, Abubakar Tairu Zuba, Local government RIFAN Patron, Alh. Ibrahim Muhammad, Assistant Secretary RIFAN, Abubakar Amadu, The Secretary of the National Apex of Nigeria Famers Cooperative, Muhammad Kuziyi and other dignitaries were present.
