Meet Hon. John Alaji who was recently appointed by the Governor of Kogi State as a pioneer Senior Special Assistant on Internal and External Audit Matters. InsideStory crew met with the unassuming and consumate gentleman a few days ago in his office where he talked about his plans and determination to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor.

Hon. Alaji is an experienced auditor, a member of Association of National Accountant of Nigeria and student member of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, (ACCA ) in the United Kingdom. He is eminently up-to-date with Microsoft office packages, accounting softwares as well as softwares for statistical data analysis.
He hails from Egume in Dekina Local Government of Kogi State; he is a graduate of Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, the set class of 1999.
The aide started his career at the Accounts Section of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs through the mandatory one year National Youth Service scheme in July 2000 and thereafter joined the audit firm of Ernest Ike & Co Chartered Accountants in Abuja.
Consequently, Hon. John in February 2004 joined NIIT Abuja, an information technology company for six years as an Accountant and had a stint with MTN Nigeria before returning to professional practice as the Audit Manager of Cornel Okolo & Co. (Chartered Accountants) in February 2012 from where he moved to E.O. Ameh & Co Chartered Accountants in January 2015.
He held sway as the Chairman of Kogi State Salary and Pension Reconciliation Committee in 2017, in the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
His quest for more knowledge informed his decision to return to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for his postgraduate studies with specialization in Audit and Financial reporting qualities.
