I believe in peaceful coexistence of religions in the State – Kogi COS

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku has affirmed that he believed in the peaceful co existence of all religions in the state noting that he has no power or courage to speak against any faith.

Pharm. Asuku stated this on Tuesday while reacting to misconceptions surrounding his take on denomination in Christianity which he clarified to have been largely misconstrued by those who said he was speaking against Christianity.

The Chief of Staff explained that he only mentioned that though, the religion has so many denominations but all were serving God, stressing that despite the differences, they never take arms against themselves.

Pharm. Asuku pointed out that the manner in which certain sects of Islamic religion took arms against themselves in Okene few weeks ago necessitated his comparison, while he called on Muslims in Ebira land to be united for the peace and development of the land.

The Chief of Staff however apologized to Christians over the misconceptions emanating from his point of view, adding that as human he was fallible and imperfect.

Pharm. Asuku further narrated that he married a wife and has family members who are Christians, noting that he was a man who believed in the peaceful coexistence of the different religious bodies in the State.

The Chief of Staff assured of the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello and his New Direction Team towards ensuring that the people of Ebiraland lived peacefully irrespective of religious and political affiliation of the people.
