Idrisu Community Commends Kogi Zonal Security Adviser Over Swift Response to Attack

The Idrisu Community Development Association in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State has expressed appreciation to the Zonal Security Adviser to the Governor for Ankpa Federal Axis, Hon. Chief Ahmed Mohammed, for his prompt intervention following a recent attack on the community.

In a letter jointly signed by community leaders, the association lauded the adviser for convening a candid engagement on the security challenges in Omala, noting that the forum provided an opportunity to discuss practical solutions to the lingering conflicts in the area.

The community particularly commended the swift deployment of security operatives to Idrisu after the March 25, 2026 attack, which reportedly claimed several lives.

According to the association, the presence of security personnel has significantly helped to restore calm and ensure the free movement of people and goods within and around the community.

The statement emphasized the strategic importance of Idrisu, noting that improved security in the area has a broader impact on surrounding communities, including Udaba in Omala Local Government Area.

While acknowledging the efforts of the security adviser, the community appealed for an increase in the number of deployed personnel and an extension of their stay to sustain the peace. They stressed that such measures would enable displaced residents to return home in time for the upcoming farming season.

The community leaders also pledged their full cooperation with security agencies and the state government in ongoing efforts to address insecurity in the area.

The letter was signed by Malam Idrisu Angulu (Gago 1), Engr. Andrew Edeh (Gago 2), Mr. Michael Ebiloma (Community Leader), and Mr. Elijah Audu (Youth Leader).
