Igala Unity House Commissioning: ICDA holds dedication prayer sessions

Clergymen and women on Sunday, gathered at the breathtaking ultramodern Igala Unity House located at the heart of the commercial nerve centre of Igalaland, Anyigba, to dedicate the structure to Almighty God before its formal commissioning scheduled to take place this weekend with the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the special guest of honour.

The Sunday dedication by the Christians preceded the same event by Islamic scholars from Igalaland, including Imams and other top religious leaders. The traditionalists would also pray at the edifice before the commissioning day proper according to the President, Igala Cultural Development Association, ICDA, Mr Abubakar Sadiq Amodu.

Sunday’s dedication by the Christian community was anchored on roper unity, peace, development, love among sons and daughters of the land, security, progress of Igala children all over the world, prayer for a violence free November governorship election in the state among others.

Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Dekina Local Government Area, Rev Silas Ademu centred his session on the need for citizens of the area to come together in unity and love without being at loggerheads with one another.

By the virtue of the gathering, the clergyman, who doubles as Secretary of Kogi East CAN, said the will of God would be established in Igalaland and the Unity House would be a rallying point for the progress of the area.

On his part, Pastor Ilemona John had apologised to God for the iniquities committed in the land in the past and asked for God’s forgiveness and then invoked divine destruction of all principalities against Igalaland.

“Every principality that has been given authority to wage war against the peace of the land shall lose its powers,” he vowed during the prayer while further appealing for divine peace to envelope the entire land.

Other clergymen, including Pastor Silas Edegbo, Rev Emmanuel Okai and others prayed against all forms of crimes, the success of the November governorship election in Kogi State and for God to cause a more united Igala citizens, their progress in Nigeria in their fields of endeavours among others.

Speaking, the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja described the House as a symbol of answered prayers and urged the people to submit their problems before God in faith and that he would answer.

While dedicating the building to God Almighty, Hon Onoja said whatever was not dedicated to the Almighty was bound to fail, hence the prayer sessions by the religious leaders and then thanked those that contributed to the success of the Unity House.

ICDA National President, Abubakar Sadiq Amodu in a vote of thanks said people of Igala origin spoke with one voice under his leadership, and expressed gratitude to God that the project was a success despite the daunting challenges earlier faced.

He called on all Igala citizens to take ownership of the project as it was a rallying point for them to see themselves as one.
