KEDA MD Sensitizes Aspiring Entrepreneurs at Kogi Poly »

Towards fostering the spirit of sustainable entrepreneurship, students of Kogi State Polytechnic have been advised to develop a healthy business development plan before venturing into any kind of business.

The MD/CEO,Kogi Enterprise Development Agency,KEDA Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni gave the advise at a presentation during the “2021 ActionAid/PIBCID Youth Peace Camp held at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

In her presentation, titled ,”Enterprise and Business Development Plans”, the MD maintained that there is need for proper study, deliberations of new ideas as well as evaluation of the business to ascertain critical areas that can help the business stand firmly.

A business development plan according to her, is much more than a piece of document which defines the current positioning of business and helps to devise and implement a strategic plan.

According to the MD,” sustainable enterprises should innovate, adopt appropriate environmentally friendly technologies, develop skills and human resources, and enhance productivity to remain competitive in national and international markets”.

Highlighting the benefits of a business development plan,she said,it helps to boost sales, presents business expansion opportunities, helps to understand the consumer better and improves the company’s image.

She advised students to work collaboratively with critical actors in the business environment to have a full grasp and knowledge of the business.

She maintained that,KEDA as an agency working to transform the SME sector of the State is opened to receive business proposals from students as the agency will not hesitate to play advisory role to emerging and existing business owners.

The Youth Camp 2021, is aimed at training youth ambassadors across the 21 LGAs of the State on entrepreneurship, physical education,team building, leadership understanding of diversity to become peace ambassadors in their communities in a bid to curtail violence extremism in the State.
