KGSG declares emergency on federal roads, call for urgent intervention from FG
The Kogi State Government has declared state of emergency on the deplorable conditions of Federal Government roads in the State, calling for urgent interventions from concerned Federal Government ministry
This was made known on Wednesday by the Director General Media and Publicity to the Governor Mr. Kingsley Fanwo while briefing the press after the State Executive Council meetings.
He noted that the State council delibrated extensively on the deplorable conditions which all the Federal Government roads in the State were subjected to stating that all the axis into the state were in very bad conditions.
The DG said that the council resolved that the situation of these roads were not only perilous but unacceptable while he called on the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola to proffer urgent solution.
Mr. Fanwo made reference to the Lokoja-Okene road which he said some portion of that road were now not motorable putting travelers through strenuous experience and an increased cost of transportation.
He also pointed out the road towards the State’s constructed Rice Mill in Ejiba, which he said was an industrial stride of the New Direction Government was also in a terrible shape.
Mr. fanwo opined that Kogi State has paid it’s dues to the Nigeria Nation and was deserving of any sought of intervention that it was seeking from the Federal Government.
