Kogi 2019: Gov. Bello receives Former Acting Governor, Clarence Olafemi, hundred others into APC
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has formally received former Acting governor of the state, Chief Clarence Olafemi and hundreds of former People’s Democratic Party members into the All progressive Congress fold.
The event took place on Wednesday when the APC campaign train landed in isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.
Other prominent decampees received into the APC included Mr. Femi Agbolarin, a former commissioner for water resources, Barrister Bola Fabola, Honourable folorunsho Daniel, Honourable Henry Fiki amongst others
The governor in his address thanked the people of Yagba East for their support noting that their massive turn out and the the rate of decamping in to the APC were clear indications of the victory ahead
Governor Bello affirmed that his administration would not rest on its oars until the federal road project was completed.
The Governor asserted that if he could draw president Buhari’s attention to Ajaokuta Steel company doing same for the road project would be made easier with the help of a supporting senator representing the people of the region.
He urged the people to vote for quality representation in the person of senator Adeyemi, assuring that he would not dissapoint the people.
Earlier, The Governor in his address during a courtesy visit to traditional rulers from yagba East federal federal constituencies said that he always pay tributes to royal fathers wherever he visited a particular area, stating that they were the representative of God on earth.
He revealed that whenever he passed through the route he was always saddened at the condition of the road noting that although the project has been awarded, its execution has been delayed as a result of antagonism and sabotage from persons within.
The Governor pointed out that his administration situated a four billion naira rice mill factory in the area to help revive the economic activities and also draw federal government’s attention to the road infrastructure.
Governor Bello pleaded with the people not to play bad politics urging them to vote for the senatorial candidate of the party at the rerun election, senator smart Adeyemi so that he could join hands together to help facilitate developments to the area.
While he promised that traditional institutions would play more pivotal roles in his second term, the governor also noted that he was committed to the completion of the Federal road project in a year after his victory and that of senator Adeyemi.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers the Elegbe of Egbe kingdom, Oba Ayodele IrukeraAdebowale Dada – otta thanked the governor for finding the constituency worthy to host such hugefactory, the Omi Rice Mill, which he affirmed would be of immense benefit to the people.
The Royal Father also pledged their continued support of the New Direction’s Administration so as to ensure the continued peace and unity experienced in the State.
