Governor Ododo Receives Labour Party Defector, Pledges Inclusive Development
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering inclusive development across the state, saying the growing wave of defections into the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a testament to the confidence Nigerians have in the party’s people-oriented policies and leadership.
Governor Ododo stated this while receiving a former Labour Party House of Assembly aspirant in Kogi East, Sanni Abdulmalik, who formally defected to the APC alongside his supporters.
The Governor described Abdulmalik as a worthy ambassador of his community whose decision to join the APC would further strengthen the party’s grassroots support in Kogi East.
He assured the new entrant of equal opportunities within the party and pledged to continue working with him to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Governor Ododo noted that Ankpa Federal Constituency and the entire Kogi East is richly endowed with vast mineral resources capable of transforming the fortunes of its people if properly harnessed.
He assured that his administration would continue to pursue policies and partnerships that would unlock the area’s economic potential for sustainable growth and job creation.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to economic reforms and infrastructural development, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda is laying a solid foundation for national growth.
Governor Ododo stressed that the security of lives and property must never be politicised, describing peace and security as collective responsibilities essential for meaningful development.
He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to sustain the prevailing peace across the state.
Earlier, the former Labour Party House of Assembly aspirant, Sanni Abdulmalik, attributed his decision to join the APC to the visible achievements of the Ododo administration, particularly in the areas of security, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
He declared the APC as his new political family and pledged the unwavering support of himself and his supporters toward the victory of the party in Ankpa Federal Constituency and across Kogi State.
