Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign Team Seeks Justice Ministry’s Support Ahead of Launch

The Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign team has paid a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Muizudeen Abdullahi, as part of ongoing stakeholder engagements ahead of the official launch of the initiative.

During the meeting, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, presented a comprehensive briefing on the campaign’s objectives. He highlighted the need for a coordinated response to the rising concerns surrounding internet fraud and identified areas where the Ministry of Justice could provide critical support, particularly in legal guidance, policy alignment, and public sensitization.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Entrepreneurship, Munirat Bint Ibrahim, elaborated on the campaign’s progress and scope. She noted that significant engagement had already been carried out with key stakeholders across the state, stressing the importance of inclusive participation as the campaign approaches its formal rollout.

In his response, the Attorney General, Muizudeen Abdullahi (SAN), expressed strong interest in the initiative and endorsed the proposed areas of collaboration. He underscored the importance of early sensitization and the role of legal institutions in shaping public behavior.

Abdullahi further advised that the campaign’s scope be expanded to reach a wider segment of the population, emphasizing that increased awareness remains vital in tackling internet fraud. He also assured the team of the Ministry’s readiness to provide necessary support.

The visit is part of broader efforts by the campaign team to build strategic partnerships with relevant institutions in Kogi State aimed at promoting lawful conduct and reducing the incidence of internet fraud through sustained public engagement.
