Kogi APC debunks fake letter, says nomination process conforms with party resolution

Our attention has been drawn to a write-up by an imposter by the name – Lukman Onekata impersonating the office of our Party’s State Publicity Secretary.
This is important to state point blankly that, everything about the write-up is fraudulent. The Letter-Heading used is forged and not in any way similar to what Kogi APC uses. The imposter is not only fradulent but entirely ignorant of our Party Constitution and it’s attendant internal mechanism.
Article 20 of our Party Constitution allows for three options through which we can nominate candidates for elections vis a vis DIRECT, INDIRECT and CONSENSUS. It is noteworthy that the consensus option was used in the election of the the present set of Party Executives in the Local Government, State and at the National levels. This was why we had a peaceful and rancour-free congresses and convention.
In the last State Working Committee (SWC) meeting attended by our State leader, His Excellency, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello, it was resolved that the CONSENSUS option to nominate Candidates for the forthcoming Local Government Election of December 12th, 2020 is called for.
The Party Stakeholders in each Ward and Local Government Area were directed to meet, screen and nominate candidates for the election. This option was endorsed by the Governor in his capacity as the APC State leader to have a very peaceful and rancour-free Local Government Election.
We urge the members of our great Party in the State to disregard every content of the said write-up. The writer’s name is not known to the party in the State.
The write-up is gross mis-information, criminal and fraudulent. If he were to be a member of the Party, he would have been penalized by the provisions of article 21ii, iv, v & vii of our Party’s Constitution.
We therefore urge our Party members across the state to abide by the decision of their Stakeholders in line with the State Working Committee’s resolution.
APC is still the most viable alternative for good governance as been witnessed in our dear Kogi State.
