Kogi CJ swears in Fmr CoS to Gov Bello, Edward Onoja as Kogi Deputy Governor

The newly confirmed Deputy Governor, Honourable Edward Onoja has been sworn in on Monday by the Chief Judge of Kogi State Justice Nasiru Ajana.

The event took place at the Banquet hall of the Government House, Lokoja in the presence of the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, other government appointees and family members of the New Deputy Governor.

In his address, the Deputy Governor thanked God almighty for such a day, while he also thanked the Governor Bello whom he referred to as his destiny helper for reposing in him the privilege to serve in an elevated capacity.

Chief Edward also appreciated the former Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba for allowing himself to be used by God to hasten him to his destined place.

He noted that the All Progressive Congress journey to victory at the polls would he better, smother and more resounding because the parry now stood firmly on two legs.

The Governor in his remarks mentioned that is was good to be good as such gesture leads to the lifting of a person.

He affirmed that his joy knew no bound and that the event was history in the making as two brothers from different ethnic background were now at the helms of affairs of the State and would together chart a more progressive cause for the state.

He noted that today was not for celebration neither for mourning but they were being spurred to do more for their state noting that all humans were pencils in the creator’s hand

Governor Bello revealed that the event of the day happened in the way it did to mitigate against any constitutional crisis of vacuum in government

He pointed out that the state remained one single indivisible entity while he appreciated the Speaker Rt Honourable Mathew Kolawole and other Assembly members for being instrumental in the successful outcome of the event.

The governor also thanked the Chief Justice of the State, Honourable Justice Ajana for performing his constitutional duty while he assured on behalf of his Deputy, that they would not disappoint the people of the state.
