Kogi Contingent Screened for National Youth Games in Asaba

Kogi State contingent at the 7th National Youths Games in Asaba, Delta State have been successful screened for the competition.

Over forty six athletes from Kogi State are to participate in different games with other participants from across the Country.

Speaking to Sportswriters shortly after the screening of the State Contingent at the Steven Keshi Stadium, Kogi State Director of Sports, Obakachi O Halli charged the state athletes to be ready to face their opponents, saying what the state needed was total victory all round.

The Director noted that there was no major challenge facing Kogi State athletes and officials as the State Government had done well to ensure they participate fully in the National Youth Games.

Mr Obakachi assured sports lovers of Kogi State of their commitment towards victory at the end of the competition.

He expressed appreciation to the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Idris Musa and particularly, Governor Yahaya Bello for encouraging sporting activities in the State through release of funds enjoining the contingent to make Kogi State proud through their excellent performance in all events.
