Kogi development: govt promises to harness natural resources
Kogi State Government has assured the state’s citizens of its preparedness to harness all natural resources within the soil of the state for the sake of socioeconomic turnaround and general development.
The State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu made this comment on Sunday when he paid on-the-spot assessment to Ajaokuta Local Government Area with huge natural resource deposit.
He said the area which is tremendously blessed with Limestone, Quartz, Dolomite and Feldspar shows that the state would have no business being underdeveloped if the resources were well harnessed.
The Commissioner, while describing Govenror Yahaya Bello as a visionary leader that is committed to the Nigerian nation state said he would not leave Kogi as he met it.
He said just like Ajaokuta Local Government Area, other parts of the state were equally blessed, stressing that the Govenror was ready to unearth such resources and make them useful to the entire state and the country.
Engr Gegu who said his ministry has continued to leverage on the good relationship being enjoyed with many international and local investors said they were prepared to take advantage of the enabling environment being created by the present administration by putting in their resources into the sector.
He called on the people of the state and the country to continue to support the Govenror as he is the future of the country.
