Kogi Government Inaugurates PAAYEF quiz competition, Urges Stakeholders to Join Hands in Funding Education

Public, Private spirited individuals and organizations have been asked to join hands in funding the Educational Sector as it can no longer be left in the hands of Government alone.

PAAYEF is Set to Conduct Quiz/Essay Competition for Secondary Schools in Kogi State, is a foundation by some public spirited individuals to encourage education in the State.

The theme of the PAAYEF competition which is set to commence soon is “Reviving the Glory of Education” is geared towards reviving the essence of education and students mentorship in Kogi state.

The competition would be spread across the three senatorial zones, which are, East, Central and West and final selection for the grand finale to be hosted in the state capital, Lokoja.

There will be awards, scholarships and gifts for best students, schools and competitors.

According to the Commissioner for Education, PAAYEF, a non-governmental organization is dedicated to the education and empowerment of Kogi State Children, Youths and women commended the foundation for once again coming out with a way to not only improve but positively impact the lives of indigent teens through it’s educational outreach program.

The Educational arm of PAAYEF the Education Commissioner pointed out, is specifically geared towards facilitating access to high-quality education opportunities for students across Kogi State, payment of tuition fees, WAEC fees for the less privileged and grants for various professional development, says Government can no longer do it alone.

The foundation’s educational arm Hon. Jones says aims at providing students with the support and tools they need to have successful academic pursuits and prove for themselves and the society at large, so that they can excel irrespective of gender, religion, and economic status, commended the present administration for making education a priority in the State.

The Commissioner explained that under the present administration, Education has enjoyed the highest budgetary provision, insisting that it is likely to hit the 30% target in 2022.
