Kogi Governor, Deputy, Speaker, COS, others mourn passing of lawmaker

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State; His Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole; Governor Bello’s Chief of Staff, Pharm Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu; All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi East Zonal Chairman, Ahmed Attah, have described the death of the member representing Ibaji state constituency in the house of Assembly, Hon. John as shocking and a great loss to the party and the state.

Hon. Abah died in the early hours of Wednesday, June 24, in a private hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness.

In a statement by Bello’s spokesman, Onogwu Muhammed in Lokoja, described late Abbah as a loyal and dedicated stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state whose contributions to the stability and growth of the party remains overwhelming.

The Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja in a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Promise, sent his condolences to the people of Ibaji local government, the state legislature, friends and associates over the unfortunate demise of the lawmaker, he also sent a condolence message to the Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Bello Balogun over the demise of his father.

The Speaker of House, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole also described the death of his colleague as a great loss to the assembly. He said his contributions on the floor of the house will be greatly missed.

In his condolence message, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu expressed sadness over the demise of the lawmaker whom he described as energetic and humane.

Ahmed Attah, Kogi East APC Zonal Chairman also condoled with the family, friends, political associates and also the people of Ibaji Constituency over the loss.

Family sources said the late lawmaker became sick after he lost his wife almost a year ago.
