Kogi Guber: APC National Chairman express optimism in party’s overwhelming victory »

….we will achieve a better result than previous successful outings – Gov. Bello assures.

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has expressed optimism in the party’s overwhelming victory at the November 11, gubernatorial election, alluding that the state under the leader of Governor Yahaya Bello has shown immense capacity, strong synergy and a track record of electoral successes.

He made this known on Friday at the State Governor’s dinner with the National Chairman, leadership and members of the Kogi state National Gubernatorial Campaign Council at the Glass House of the government house, Lokoja.

The party chairman described Governor Bello as a true party man, a mature politician and a great pusher, whom he know was equal to the task of leading the party to victory at the polls, adding that the massive reception by supporters have shown great indications of the popularity and strength of the party and its preparedness.

Dr. Ganduje asserted that while he was aware of the existing unity in the party structures of the state, he appealed to members, to be more united. He similarly urged members to be committed to the cause of the party in this electioneering season in a bid to ensure an overwhelming 99% success rate adding that the National party leadership have a strong believe that such result was achievable.

He assured that the National Working Committee was fully in support and are committed to the party’s victory in the forth coming election. The Chairman also asserted that the NWC is also poised to ensure a functional APC across the Local, state and national level as the party and it’s leadership are united, focused and energised to steer its affairs to greater height.

Dr. Ganduje noted that the party had decided to add dynamism to the National leadership by Inaugurating the election National Campaign Council in the respective state as such would avail the opportunity to meet with party leaders, stakeholders, traditional institutions, the grassroots members and staunch supporters of the party in the state.

He said after the inauguration the party leaders will be led by the President and the Vice President to flag off the campaign in a bid to further galvanise support for the party’s candidate.

Governor Yahaya Bello in his remarks thanked the National Chairman, leadership and members of the Kogi state National Gubernatorial Campaign Council for their show of support and solidarity with the state, noting that the calibre of members of the National Gubernatorial Campaign Council was highly re assuring.

He noted that when he took over leadership as governor, the state was dominated largely by the opposition party, but within the first term his administration had converted 80% of the opposition members, owing to his kind of leadership which guaranteed equal opportunities for everyone.

Governor Bello pointed out that the party in the state has a track record of electioneering victories since 2015 up untill the last general election, adding that all of the true members of the party who contested for the gubernatorial ticket of the party which produced the candidature of Hon. Usman Ododo are fully on board to ensure his victory at the polls.

While promising that his party will play by the rules, the governor emphasised that the election will be taken as a serious business as the Kogi APC will campaign to the people on how his administration have ensured peace, safety and security, unity and development. He added that while his government had groomed leaders of competence across the local and state government, he was confident that the party’s candidate would consolidate on the gains of his administration.

The party’s candidate, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo on his own part opined that with calibre of APC bigwigs, politicians and experienced campaigners who made up the National Campaign Council, he was rest assured that the party was coasting to a landslide victory at the November 11 polls.

He hinted that in the past five months, the party has consulted across the state with prominent leaders and party members to solicit for their support to significantly build on the enduring legacies of the present New Direction Government.

The APC candidate added that the achievements of the present administration in the areas of security, health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and human capital development are unmatched in the history of the state alluding that, a continuity government under the Renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was indeed needed to sustain the gains made by the Governor Yahaya Bello led government.

He mentioned that Governor Bello just like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made Kogi state a home of equal opportunity for all without any prejudice to ethnic, religion and class and he has also laid a good foundation of developmental strides for him to build when he emerge as the governor at the polls.

Hon. Ododo reiterated that the Agenda the APC is fronting is the Kogi development Agenda, which he said is about unity, security, peaceful co existence and the growth of critical sectors of the state in ways that supports the aspiration of all the citizens of the state.

He assured that the party’s campaign will be peaceful and issue based with a clear message to unite the people, secure lives, property and build on the achievements of the governor in a manner that will make party leaders, members and the citizenry very proud.
