The Coordinator of CEDO Media Network for GYB 2019, Chief Ali Atabor has expressed confidence on the chances of Governor Yahaya Bello/Edward Onoja emerging victorious with a wide margin in the forthcoming governorship polls.

Chief Atabor made this known in an interview with some journalists shortly after a stakeholders meeting organised by the Nigerian electoral umpire body for the media in Lokoja.

According to him, the election is a workover, as many were beginning to see glaringly and admit that the political prowess of Governor Bello couple with the capacity of his running mate, Edward Onoja are unbeatable.

He described Governor Bello and Edward Onoja as leaders with capacity who understood governance and have worked acidiously to deliver goods to all segments of the society.

In his words: “The Governor and Edward Onoja have been seen to have passion, give listening ear, have sincere concern for the yearnings of their people and worked round the clock to ensure the dividends of democracy promised the people are delivered to them” he said.

“The fight against the rot that bedevilled the state to ensure it is rescued has not been an easy one as the Governor has had to make huge sacrifices; taken unpopular decisions, all geared towards saving the state from eminent collapse,” he added.

“If you take into cognizance the wide acceptance Governor Bello has enjoyed lately, you will agree with me that the people have put aside sentiments and are beginning to appreciate areas his administration has made remarkable difference.

“You will agree with me that thousands of Kogi farmers including our youths, like never before have had transformation in their socio-economic lives, now able to put food on the table, through efforts made by the government to revolutionalise the agricultural sector which is commendable.

“Time will not permit me to begin to explain to you, the impact this government has made in health care delivery. The remarkable difference is clear, those who have benefitted and are still benefiting understand the difference. Electrification of rural communities that never had access to power supply since the creation of the state, water supply, road projects made of asphalt layers that will stand the test of time amongst others,” he explained.

While stressing that Governor Bello’s administration formulated policies and implemented programmes out of his passion and genuine love to rapidly develop and salvage the future of Kogi State for the next generation, he emphasized on the need for continuous support to enable him do more.

“This administration places optimum value on the lives and growth of young people and do not use them for thuggery which was a norm in the erstwhile governments. This fact has been made known repeatedly by Chief Edward Onoja, as was the case in the past; reason why you see youths occupying various leadership positions in this government.”

“It is now a cliche to say the government has succeeded in curbing insecurity challenges, as the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, neighbouring communities and Kogi East which was volatile for electoral violence can now have a sound sleep as security challenges have been conquered by the government,” Chief Atabor concluded.
