Kogi Guber: Alhaji Oricha Takes Campaign to Koton-karfe, Calls for Massive Support for APC Candidate

The Director-General, Kogi State government house Administration, Alhaji Umar Oricha on Thursday took the consolidation message of the New Direction Government to Kogi/Kotonkarfe local government area where he called for massive support for the November 11 Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and Comrade Joel Oyibo.

The party stakeholder also commissioned an office complex in the Kogi Local Government Area for party executives and supporters to coordinate there activities as the campaign gets on top gear while he similarly donated a sienna bus to facilitate mobilisation and canvassing efforts of the party members.

Alhaji Oricha informed the party faithfuls that Governor Yahaya Bello remained the leader of the party in the state and as loyal members and staunch followers of his leadership, his directives is what they follow at all times. He urged party members to remain United as they prepare towards election, imploring them to work with all the leaders and stakeholders to ensure they delivered maximally for the party at the polls.

He asserted that he has keen interest in the Local Government and has continued to invest in it through human capital development noting that what informed his concern was the connection shared and the critical and historic positioning of Kogi/Kotonkarfe LG.

The DG added that under Governor Bello’s leadership, young individuals have been enabled to thrive politically and they have been given opportunities to serve in numerous capacities. He added that in a bid to galvanise more support for the party’s candidate he planned to visit former leaders and stakeholders of the party within the KKF enclave and unite the party further towards achieving greater purpose.

Earlier, while paying homage to the palace of the Ohimegegu of Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Isa Koto the DG said as a government that places premium respect on the traditional institution the delegation deemed it fit to visit the revered traditional ruler’s palace for prayers before embarking on their activities within his terrain.

While he recalled that he visited the traditional ruler for similar purpose in 2019 where he prayed for the success of the current governor at the polls for a second term bid, he alluded that it was only wise to take similar steps for the party’s candidate, Alhaji Ododo being assured that the traditional ruler’s prayer always results into victory for the party.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Kogi/Kotonkarfe Local Government Council, Alhaji. Dauda Aliyu thanked the state governor, Yahaya Bello for his leadership and his numerous good gestures to the local govt particularly the recent drive towards rural electrification across the LG, The General Hospital in Gegu-beki amongst many others.

He added that the local government is full of gratitude as they are also aware of the antecedents of Alhaji Oricha right from the first tenure of the New Direction Government and the manner with which he has shown concern for KKF. He alluded that Kogi/Kotonkarfe LG have never failed to deliver for the All Progressives Congress and the party leadership can hold them to their words, to deliver again for Ododo in the November 11 polls.

He attested that the only way a party can succeed is to have people who are close to the grassroots as its representatives and the party is fully represented in the LG by numerous political big wigs.

The Ohimegegu of Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Aburasaq Isa Koto who the delegation had earlier visited lauded Alhaji Oricha for his dedication, attitude and incredible performance as the chief administrator of government house adding that he has followed him since he took up his role and the astute administrator is someone worthy of honour.

The traditional ruler used the medium to also thank the state government for its effort towards the rural electrification project embarked on in the Local government while he prayed for the successful outcome of the delegation’s event.

Other party stakeholders from Kogi/kotonkarfee local government, who spoke including the APC Chairman in the LG, Kotonkarfe House of Assembly Member, Chairman Kogi state civil service commission, counsellors and Support group representatives all assured of an overwhelming support and mobilization for the party’s candidate in a bid to affirm the consolidation mandate of the party.
