Kogi Guber: Fancy Support Group Stage Solidarity Walk for Ododo/Oyibo in Lokoja »

Thousands of youths, support groups and party faithful drawn from within and outside the capital of Kogi State had on Saturday staged a solidarity walk in Lokoja to drum support for the election bid of the All Progressives Congress candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, Ododo Ahmed and his running mate, Comr. Joel Oyibo.

The supporters adorned in different T-shirts bearing the pictures of Mr. Ododo and his running mate, Comr. Joel Oyibo marched from Zone 8 junction and ended at the popular Obasanjo Square.

Hon Siyaka Yakubu Fancy who led the Solidarity Walk extolled Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for providing an enabling and peaceful environment for Kogites to thrive on the path of democratic processes and also commended him for his exceptional qualities towards the inclusive governance of the New Direction government.

He thanked the party stakeholders, party faithful and stalwarts who despite the wet weather occasioned joined in the solidarity walk, saying it’s an indication that the mandate of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman Ododo and Comrade Joel Oyibo is truly the people’s choice.

“We are happy that Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded considerable success in the previous elections. We are determined to record the same feat in the governorship poll and we must all work for the success of all the APC candidates to allow the continuity of a secure state”, he concluded.

One of the participants in the walk, Mr Femi George said, “our support for Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and Comrade Joel Oyibo is not because they are perfect, it is because of their proven excellent track records as a people who had participated in gains and achievements of the present administration led by His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello”.

Rachael Paul on her part said the duo of Ododo and Oyibo have proven their worth and she, along with many others believe in their capacity to consolidate on the laid down achievement and ensure an adequate mechanism to drive for all-inclusive growth, and to lead the state to become more prosperous.

Many of the participants who spoke to our correspondent agree that the Ododo/Oyibo ticket is the most suitable and progressive combination that shall usher in adequate consolidation in the November 11 governorship ballot.

Barrister Zakari Abbas and Hajiya Habibat Onumoko who also led the youths and women on the solidarity rally, said the candidates of the ruling party have the technical know-how and necessary credentials required to run a smooth government and sustainable administration.

“We have agreed to work assiduously with women and youths of Kogi State for the success of APC in the November 11th governorship election”, they said.
