…as Asuku Women Political Network promises massive mobilization for APC

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Saturday flagged off a house to house campaign movement across the state spearheaded by women political group from Lokoja/Kogi/koton-Karfe Federal constituency under the aegis of Asuku Women Political Network for Ododo.

The women through their leader Hajia Fatima Allah-Dey, Special Adviser to the Governor on stakeholders engagement promised to mobilise massively and reach out to their fellow women all across the state in a bid to ensure the victory of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo at the November 11 polls.

She pointed out that women have enjoyed massive benefits under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello including strategic leadership positions, political appointments and massive empowerment hence they were certain that with continuity, Ododo Usman will not deviate from the template already set by the current administration but rather surpass it.

Governor Yahaya Bello in his address after the flag off commended the women for such outstanding initiative, stating that when it comes to politics women holds tremendous influence on electioneering outcomes and they have a frontline role to play throughout the process.

Represented by the state APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, the Governor expressed the confidence that the November 11 election would be a walk over for the party as the candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo is sellable and the party has earnestly began mobilisation and was working very hard ahead of the election to put legitimate political structures in place. The governor also alluded that Usman Ododo is a solid product of his Administration and will perform better because he has been well trained.

The governor however promised that the Women group alongside several other support groups would be certainly carried along when the campaign structures is put in place.

The host and Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku in his remarks noted that the flag-off of the house to house women campaign is intended to facilitate the victory of the party adding that he strongly believes that truly women play a very critical role in our elections and nation building.

He said that by INEC’s directives open campaign commenced June 14 and APC being aware that politics and democracy is about the people decided to approach it’s campaign by massively reaching out to the people directly through a very strong and unique model to canvass for its candidate.

The COS attested that without the women Population, there won’t be the New Direction Government owing to the massive support received from them adding that he was glad the women from Lokoja/Kogi/Koton-karfee Federal constituency were leading the charge and he was confident of their capacity to deliver and mobilise strong support for the party’s candidate.

The CoS assured that the days ahead will be of great benefits to everyone hence to guarantee this, everyone must work hard, ensure that they canvass to bring about victory at the polls urging the women to use their network and prowess to bring in more support for the party. He added that APC is the ruling party in the country and Kogi state, therefore the women while undertaking their assignments must not be ashamed to canvass to people as the party is worthy to sell.

The Party’s flag bearer, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman in his remarks appreciated the women group for there candid support noting that women are his major constituency as he was well aware of their contributions and efforts.

He also assured them that the APC would run a very peaceful, issue based campaign because, the government of Yahaya Bello has achieved a great deal that deserves his party to be voted in for continuity. He similarly said that the campaign would reflect the unity of the state and his government would expand on the good gestures of the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to women while he called on all the women and other party faithfuls to remain focused.

Speaking earlier several women leaders and stakeholders endorsed the candidature of APC’s candidate for the November polls, promising to go all out to ensure he wins the Gubernatorial Elections. The high point of the event was the award given to Governor Yahaya Bello by the women as a distinguished pillar of support, encouragement and empowerment.
