Kogi guber: Kogites Hail Onoja's Choice As Bello's Running Mate »

Kogites have hailed the emergence of chief Edward Onoja as the running mate of All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello, describing it as a step in the right direction.

Edward Onoja, the current chief of staff to Governor Bello, was picked by the APC after an extensive deliberation by party leaders.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Honorable Onogwu Mohammed who confirmed this news said that Onoja sealed the ticket after party bigwigs weighed the various options for the pairing and resolved that a ‘Bello/Edward’ ticket for the party’s gubernatorial contest would guarantee a win in the November 16th, 2019 election in the state.

Senator Smart Adeyemi described the choice of Edward Onoja as a ‘water-tight’ combination that sends chills down the system of opposition. He expressed confidence that that his combination with Bello would offer Kogites the type of quality leadership that they require.

The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Mathew Kolawole described the choice of Edward Onoja as a good omen for the rapid development of the state.

“The combination of Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief Edward David Onoja is a perfect ticket that will deliver an overwhelming victory for our party APC come November 16 and it will also afford us the opportunity to consolidate on the modest achievements of the new direction administration in the last three and a half years in the state.

APC has taken the right decision to nominate a versatile and grassroots politician in person of Chief Edward Onoja to deputise a visional and result oriented Governor”.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, honorable Pius Kolawole said the giant strides of Edward Onoja as the Chief of Staff to the Governor which has enhanced this great leap in leadership cannot be overemphasized. He expressed confidence of a more progressive and democratic service delivery to the people of Kogi State as the Deputy Governor.

Barrister Dare Michael, one of the APC governorship aspirants in the state described the choice of Onoja as a ‘master stroke and a world class combination that guarantees victory for the party’.

Honorable Wemi Jones siad; “No doubt, Edward Onoja is a very young, intelligent, loyal and vibrant politician who a lot of youths look up to for political mentorship’,.
He affirmed that Chief Edward Onoja is a classical example of a well-rooted politician, a fact which most of your die-hard political antagonist dare not contest.

He is confident that Onoja’s immense contributions and strategies towards APC victory in the last general elections speaks volumes and it will definitely steer APC to victory in this forthcoming election.

Honorable Lawi A. T Ahmed described the choice of Edward as Bello’s running mate as the most reliable and trustworthy decision by the party. He called on all, especially the youths to support a the reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello for another term.

Edime Amade, described the choice of Edward Onoja as the best thing to happen to APC as a party and the Igala people.

He described him as a unifier and a development driven individual who uses every opportunity given to better the lot of others.

‘Although we are EBIGO inclined’, but we from the Igala extraction cannot deny the fact that Edward Onoja is the harbinger of the new face of infrastructural cum human capital development being witnessed in our land. He is the leader that we need at this time. He is the real Igala Agenda”.

Honorable Sani Ogwu Salisu said; “The choice of Chief Edward David Onoja doesn’t come to me as a surprise considering the roles he played before, during and after the 2019 general elections which our great party, the APC recorded an over ninety percent success.

The Chief of Staff is not only admirable in terms of administrative excellence, but also a master strategist whose trailblazing cannot be out looked when discussing the success of both APC and the New Direction Government of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.”

Reactions continue to trail the combination of Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja for the November 16th governorship election with stakeholders describing it as a sophisticated political strategy to woo more support and solidarity that can guarantee victory for APC at the polls.
