Kogi State Governor’s Chief of Staff, Ali Bello, casts his vote at Polling Unit 011 in Agassa Ahache Okeneba Ward, Okene, during Saturday’s local government elections.
The Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Ali Bello, has commended voters for their turnout and peaceful conduct during Saturday’s local government elections, while praising the state electoral commission for its handling of the exercise.
Bello made the remarks after casting his vote at Polling Unit 011, Agassa Ahache Okeneba Ward, in Okene Local Government Area.
He commended the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) for what he described as a transparent and well-coordinated electoral process, attributing the conduct of the exercise to adequate planning and organisation.
The Chief of Staff also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing what he described as a level playing field for political parties and ensuring adequate security arrangements for the elections.
According to Bello, the peaceful atmosphere and voter participation demonstrated public interest in the democratic process and the importance of allowing citizens to elect their representatives at the grassroots level.
He also expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the local government elections, citing what he described as public satisfaction with Ododo’s leadership and governance.
Bello maintained that the administration’s performance had strengthened public confidence in the ruling party, expressing hope that this would be reflected in the election results.
The Kogi local government elections are expected to determine the leadership of local councils across the state, with the outcome set to shape governance and political representation at the grassroots level.
