Kogi NEWMAP Boss, Barr Ladi Jato Bags APWEN Recognition Award

The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) Kogi State Chapter, has presented an Award of Excellence to the Project Coordinator of the Kogi Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (Kogi NEWMAP), Barr Ladi Ahmed Jatto, in recognition of her outstanding performance in Engineering work in the State.

Presenting the Award, Engr. (Mrs) Joan Oguche, accompanied by members of the Association, described Barr Ladi Jatto as an administrator par excellence, a resourceful Kogite, and a detribalized Nigerian whose dedication to duty has helped reposition Kogi NEWMAP on the parts of prosperity.

She said what even makes the recipient most deserving of the award were her numerous initiatives that upscaled Kogi NEWMAP in achieving remarkable successes in line with its mission statement of erosion management, mitigation of gully and flood impacts, and the upliftment of livelihoods through sustainable developmental intervention policies.

She appreciated the NEWMAP Project Coordinator for her outstanding performances, following a tour to grace some of the jobs done under her supervision; acknowledging her numerous support to the Association over the years.

Responding, Barr Ladi Ahmed Jatto who expressed appreciation to the Team for the accolades, award, and recognition pointed that there was a greater need to encourage women’s participation in discourses bordering on social development.

She disclosed that Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is walking the talk in that regard with a gender sensitivity that recognizes the significance of women and how they can be relied on to get the Jobs done.

The NEWMAP Project Coordinator reiterated the commitment of Governor Bello to tackle the hydra-headed challenges of flooding and erosion in the State whilst enhancing the livelihoods of Kogites in line with his people driven policies.
