SSA on Human Trafficking Meets Kogi Police Commissioner, Seeks Stronger Collaboration

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi State Governor on Human Trafficking, Hon. Amodu Avosuahi Patience, has reaffirmed the need for stronger collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force in the fight against human trafficking across the state.

Hon. Patience made this known during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, on Friday, July 3, 2026, where she was accompanied by members of her team.

During the visit, the SSA commended the Kogi State Police Command for its sustained efforts in combating human trafficking and other related crimes. She emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between her office and the police to tackle the menace more effectively, particularly through grassroots engagement and coordinated interventions.

According to her, a united approach involving security agencies, government institutions and community stakeholders is essential to preventing human trafficking and protecting vulnerable persons across the state.

Responding, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the visit and applauded the commitment of the Governor’s aide toward addressing the challenge of human trafficking in Kogi State.

He assured the delegation of the Command’s full support, pledging continued cooperation and the provision of necessary resources to enhance efforts aimed at preventing and curbing human trafficking in the state.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of the Office of the SSA on Human Trafficking and the Kogi State Police Command to deepen collaboration in safeguarding residents and strengthening the state’s response to human trafficking.
