Kogi Poly matriculates 4,349 students for ND, HND programs

The Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja has matriculated a total of 4,349 students into the institution for the 2023/2024 academic session. This consist of 3,124 National Diploma and 1,225 Higher National Diploma students spread across schools and departments of the polytechnic.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo disclosed this on Tuesday during the 31st matriculation ceremony of the institution, the 4th in the series since he became the Rector of school.

He used the medium to call on the matriculated students to desist from every form of cultism, examination malpractice, sexual abuse, drug abuse and indecent dressing in order to achieve their academic goals.

He said the polytechnic had institutionalised mechanisms to deal with any infringement from students as well as erring staff.

The Rector who assured the students of a conducive teaching and learning atmosphere, said the institution has recorded notable milestone in academic and infrastructural transformation which the students can explore and take advantage of. He assured of the management readiness to help fulfill the learning objectives of the students.

Dr Ogbo noted that the institution recognizes the importance of students union hence their inclusion in the activities of the school. Urging them to participate in union activities within the laid down rules and regulations.

He commended the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello for his valuable support to the institution during his tenure. He also congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on a successful inauguration, and expressed confidence that he would consolidate on the achievements of the past administration of Yahaya Bello.

Some of the matriculated students who spoke with our correspondent expressed gratitude to the management for offering them admission, promising to reciprocate the gesture by being good ambassadors of the institution.
