Kogi State Govt Seeks Collaboration With PAAU on Sports, Youths development
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Monday A. Anyebe has described the dedication and commitment of the management and staff of the Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba as impressive and second to none.
Hon. Anyebe stated this during his visitation to the Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche at Anyigba.
The Commissioner said the educational standard of the University through the effort of the Vice Chancellor and her team deserved commendation.
The stated that his intentions of visiting the institution was to initiate partnership with the university for a productive youths engagement.
He said the Ministry are working on modalities for programs that would benefit the young people by keeping them engaged in meaningful ventures.
Hon. Anyebe also intimated the Vice Chancellor Professor Tenuche that he want to seek the institution collaboration for Kogi United football team to make use of their pitch pending the completion of the renovation on the Confluence stadium in Lokoja.
The Commissioner restated the commitment of the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo towards ensuring a conducive atmosphere for the people of the state especially the youths and indigenous Students in the state.
Speaking, at a meeting with the Students Union Government of the University, the Commissioner admonished the students to prioritize their studies while engaging in student unionism.
He said the present administration has total passion for youths and students in the state which necessitated the approval of their bursary allowance and subvention arrears to the NYCN Council in the state.
Hon. Anyebe urged the students to avoid involving in any form of negative vices capable of destroying their future while seeking for their continuous support for the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo led admin.
Professor Tenuche assured the Commissioner of the school partnership with his Ministry towards engaging the youths meaningfully to better their future.
The Vice Chancellor described the support of the present Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to the University as commendable and assured the Governor on behalf of her management of the upliftment of the school at all times.
Speaking, on behalf of the student, the President of Student’s Union Government of Prince Abubakar University Anyigba, Comrade Agbo Emmanuel Shaibu described the visit of the Commissioner as a welcome development to school which in turn spur them in thier academic pursuit.
Comrade Shaibu expressed appreciation Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for approving bursary allowances for students of Kogi origin in tertiary institutions across the country.
He pledged the commitment of the students to the present administration and sustenance of peace in the University.
