Kogi State LGA Polls: NYCN forum wants Hon Taufiq as Ijumu Chairman, presents him award plaque/medal in leadership

Satisfied by his style of leadership and commitment to the cause of Ijumu youths and the youth of entire Kogi State, the state forum of Coordinators of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has endorsed Hon Taofiq Isa for chairman of the Local Government Area.

This is against the backdrop of the up-and-coming Local Government polls in the state, in addition to the presentation of a plaque and medal in recognition of Hon Taofiq’s outstanding leadership.

Presenting the award in Ayetoro the headquarters of Ijumu LGA, the Acting Chairman of the Coordinators Forum, Comrade Obas Adesina described Hon Taofiq as the pride of the youth of Kogi State.

He said endorsement and award presentation was not part of the practice of the council but that Hon Taofiq had shown exemplary leadership, hence he is a shining light with no place to hide.

The forum Acting Chairman noted that over the years, even from while he was the administrator of Ijumu LGA, Hon Taofiq had shown commitment to their cause, and sighted instances when he made several interventions on their behalf to help them make headway.

He prayed God to assist the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security in piloting the affairs of Ijumu Local Government Area and assured him of their commitment to making case for his re – election at the appropriate time.

Speaking during his acceptance, the Security aide to the Governor said he was overwhelmed by the recognition and warm accolades, noting it had shown his contribution to the society were not in vain.

He thanked the youths of the state for the commendable efforts they put in in the last governorship election in the state which ensured the re – election of the incumbent, Governor Yahaya Bello by landslide.

Hon Taofiq said the support they have continued to give the current administration at all levels demonstrates there is a bright future for the state as leaders of tomorrow.

He was however quick to inform the youths that whatever he is doing was part of his nature as a human being, and recalled several instances of his struggles since childhood, his unionism and journey into politics.

The Chairmanship hopeful expressed gratitude to the group and promised to sustain his commitment to good governance, youth and women empowerment and overall societal development.

In their separate remarks, the secretary of the forum, Comrade Keller Abdulkadir, the forum Chairmen for Central, West and East Senatorial Districts, the Coordinator of the forum for Ijumu LGA, Comrade Alex Ibikunle and others all eulogised the personality of Hon Isa Taofiq and prayed God to continue to assist him in his political career.
