Kogi Youth Ministry Sets Up Committees for International Youth Day, Entrepreneurship Programme
The Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has constituted three committees to coordinate activities for the forthcoming International Youth Day celebration and Kogi Youth Entrepreneurship programme.
The committees were inaugurated by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, during a meeting with appointees and staff of the ministry.
During the meeting, Hon. Anyebe appreciated the appointees and staff for their presence and commitment to the ministry, announcing the constitution of the Screening, Venue/Protocol and Media Committees to ensure effective coordination of the forthcoming events.
The Screening Committee is chaired by Hon. Abdulkadir Kella, with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry serving as Secretary.
Other members are Hon. Sunday Osiako, Hon. Geoffrey Adekoya, Hon. Emmanuel Ojodunwene and the ministry’s Director of Finance.
According to the terms of reference, the committee will screen applications for the empowerment grant and select 21 deserving beneficiaries, with one beneficiary representing each of the 21 local government areas of the state.
The Venue and Protocol Committee is chaired by Hon. Charity Ijese, while the ministry’s Deputy Director of Youth will serve as a member.
Other members are Hon. Mubarak, Hon. Godwin SB, Hon. Idris Dizal and Hon. Abdulkadir Ali Keller.
The committee is responsible for venue arrangements, protocol coordination, securing resource persons and ensuring their welfare throughout the programme.
The Media Committee is chaired by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. James Sani with Hon. Abdulkerim Haruna serving as Secretary. Hon. Dauda is also a member.
The committee will oversee publicity and media coverage of the events before, during and after the programmes.
Inaugurating the committees, Commissioner Anyebe charged the members to approach their responsibilities with dedication and ensure the successful delivery of the assignments entrusted to them.
He assured the committees of his accessibility and support, noting that his office would remain open to them whenever they require assistance or clarification in the course of carrying out their duties.
