Int. Youth Day: Princes Bilikisu Calls on Kogi Youths to Drive Peace, Development
Former Kogi State Women Leader of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Princess Bilikisu Musa, has called on young people in the state and across Nigeria to take active leadership roles and contribute to national development.
Musa made the call in a message marking the 2026 International Youth Day, in which she urged youths to develop their skills, promote unity and contribute to peace and development.
According to her, young people should not see themselves merely as future leaders but should recognise their capacity to provide leadership in the present.
“To every youth out there: You are not the leaders of tomorrow, you are the leaders of TODAY,” she said.
Musa urged young Nigerians to lead with integrity, acquire relevant skills and support one another, stressing the importance of youth participation in the development of Kogi State and the country.
Reflecting on her experience as a former NYCN Kogi State Women Leader, she said she had witnessed the “brilliance, resilience, and leadership” demonstrated by young people.
She also acknowledged Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for what she described as efforts to create opportunities for youth inclusion.
“To our leaders, His Excellency Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo and our mentor His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, The White Lion, thank you for creating space for youth inclusion,” Musa said.
She prayed for continued wisdom for the two leaders to mentor the next generation, while also seeking divine guidance and empowerment for Nigerian youths.
“May Allah bless, guide, and empower all Nigerian youths,” she added.
