KogiDecides: Yahaya Bello gains convincing lead

Governor Yahaya Bello looks set for re-election, results from Saturday’s general election show.

Results emerging from our findings, reports from observers and situations rooms across the state have shown that Governor Bello’s party the All Progressive Congress (APC) is having a convincing lead across the state.

Results from the central senatorial district which is where the governor hails from and other local government areas such as Igalamela/Odolu, Olamaboro, Kogi, Ijumu Kabba/Bunu, Ofu have shown the governor emerging victorious with very wide margins against his major contender, PDP’s Engineer Musa Wada.

Significantly the governor won in his polling unit with 716 votes to defeat Ms Akpoti of the SDP and Mr Wada of the PDP who both scored no vote.
Bello also won the votes cast in Natasha’s polling unit scoring 78 votes while Ms Natasha scored 76. He also won in the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja’s polling unit in Olamaboro with 934 vote to PDP’s 0 votes. Anyigba with the largest ward in Dekina local government area, the All Progressive Congress also won highest votes cast in majority of the units

Analysts say the incumbent, Governor Yahaya Bello would win with a wide margin.
