Motorcycle Operators Endorse Hon. Leke Abejide, Commend Lawmaker for Funding Security Jackets Across Yagba
The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), Kogi State Chapter, Mopamuro Branch, has lauded the Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, for fully funding the procurement of coded jackets for commercial motorcycle operators across the constituency.
In a letter of appreciation dated July 18, 2026, and signed by the Secretary-General of the association, Comrade Anjorin Emmanuel Taiwo, the union described the lawmaker’s intervention as a remarkable demonstration of his commitment to the welfare, safety and progress of his constituents.
According to the association, Abejide’s generosity was not limited to Mopamuro Local Government Area but extended to operators in Yagba East and Yagba West, ensuring that every registered commercial motorcycle operator in the federal constituency received the coded jacket free of charge.
The association noted that the initiative aligns with the Kogi State Government’s security measures aimed at curbing criminal activities perpetrated by individuals who disguise themselves as commercial motorcycle operators. It stated that the coded jackets would enhance rider identification, improve accountability and enable passengers to easily identify genuine operators.
MOUN further commended the lawmaker for bearing the entire cost of the project, describing the gesture as a huge financial relief for its members and a major boost to public confidence in the commercial motorcycle transport sector.
The association also praised Abejide’s record of service, compassion and responsiveness to the needs of the people, saying his leadership has continued to bring hope to many families and strengthen confidence in democratic representation.
Reaffirming its support for the federal lawmaker, the association pledged its loyalty and solidarity with his leadership, expressing readiness to continue supporting his aspiration to represent Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The motorcycle operators prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Rt. Hon. Abejide, wishing him good health, wisdom, strength and greater opportunities to continue serving humanity.
