Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello has called on all the sons and daughters of the Ebira kingdom, home and abroad to rally round the newly enthroned Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Alhaji Dr. muhammed Anaje in a bid to fast track greatness, growth and ensure the safety and security of the region.
Governor Bello made this call on Thursday, during the official installation and presentation of staff of office to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland at his palace in Okene.
He charged the traditional ruler to shun segregation as he no longer belonged to any individual religion, district or clan but the entirety of the people of Ebira land. The Governor urged Alhaji Anaje to bring the entire people of Ebira land together in a bid to foster peace, unity and progress.
The governor used the medium to appreciate other eminently qualified contenders to the title of the Ohinoyi stool, lauding their show of statesmanship, love and unity as he urged them to sheath their swords and join hands with who the Almighty has chosen to develop the Ebira nation.
He hinted that the Ohinoyi, Dr. Anaje is a very experienced personality, who have traveled far and wide and posses replete goodwill, knowledge and sophisticated network which would come handy in guiding the affairs of the region.
The governor assured that his time as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land would have the government of Ahmed Usman Ododo to support him and consolidate on his achievement in eight years while he assured that himself would be by the side to render helping hands and support whenever necessary.
He urged the traditional ruler, who is the Vice President of the Kogi state traditional council to join hands with the President of the traditional council and Atta of Igala Land, HRM Matthew Opaluwa and other prominent traditional rulers across the nation to bring peace and unity to our land.
He reminded the royal l father that the Ohinoyi stool is revered and ancestors before him, that have occupied the position have always raised the bar in ensuring massive development for the people hence he should follow the part of those who have ruled with honour.
The Royal Father, Dr. Muhammed Anaje expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the honour conferred on him, nothing that he was humble and honoured as well as determined to serve with utmost gratitude.
The traditional ruler promised unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the state and the trust he has earned noting that he was looking forward to continue the positive contribution under the new government.
He also acknowledge all the co contenders noting that he has great respect for each and everyone of them. He however urged them to all move forward and collectively contribute to the growth of the Ebira nation.
While the traditional ruler thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking practical step towards the actualise the resuscitation of Ajaokuta steel company and itakpe iron ore which he noted had the tendencies to change the destiny of the state and the nation as a whole.
The Ohinoyi however called on the President to facilitate the establishment of North Central Development Commission which in his opinion would aid and fast track certain developmental strides in the region. He also urged the state to establish the Ministry of Religion Affairs, which he pointed out would further strengthen religious cohesion and understanding.
He pledged that he belong to all the people of the region and would serve them with the fear of God and the betterment of the Ebira Nation.
