Lokoja Corp Member launch free sandals campaign, donates to 6 Primary schools

A Corp Member with registration number KG/18C/1150 Miss Adeoye Aderonke Elizabeth has launched a campaign donating 688 free sandals to indigent pupils across 6 primary schools in Lokoja as her Community Development Service.

She stated that her decision to undertake the campaign was premised on the compassion she felt seeing some pupil go to their places of learning bare footed pointing out that such situation could discourage learning.

The Corp member while speaking at one of benefitting school, Islamiya 2 Nursery and Primary School, Kabawa emphasized the need for the pupils to remain committed to studies, shun laziness, truancy and other act which could affect their educational performance.

She also charged the pupil never to be discouraged irrespective of current situation they find themselves assuring that with dedication and persistency the future remained bright.

Other schools that benefitted from the community Development service campaign included Serikin noma Nursery and Primary School, Mahadi Nursery and Primary School, UBE Adankolo and Liwaul-Hamdi Nursery and Primary School.

The Headmistress of Islamiya 2 Nursery and Primary School, Kabawa Mrs Iyabo Adiza Abubakar noted that such gesture was timely as she was grateful to the initiator of the campaign for her consciousness to
give back to her community.

The Head teacher revealed that she was not expecting that the School would benefit, affirming that there were concerns of indigent pupils who their need for the intervention was imminent.

One of the benefitting students Bashir Tukur thanked the Corp Member for the intervention and the words of encouragement, stating that such would go a long way to spur them to remain steadfast in their study well.

The Honourable Commissioner for education, Mrs. Rosemary Osikoya who was represented
at the event by the Public Relation Officer of the Ministry expressed her delight in the initiative stating that such move was the first that would have direct impact on the educational sector.

She told the student to use the gift appropriately so as to encourage
the initiator and other well meaning persons to do more.

The Commissioner thanked the Corp Member for making the well being of school pupil her priority urging her to do more wherever she finds herself.
